Less than 48 hours until Pirate Loot sets sail!

19 Aug

PL 3d Box ArtHere we are in the last two days before the launch of the Pirate Loot kickstarter campaign! It is hard for me to convey how nervous and excited I am to see this project approaching its start. While the team and I are frantically taking care of last minute details, I can now say with 100% confidence that we will be launching at 10am PST on Thursday, August 21st (assuming it goes live the moment I press the big red launch button).

In anticipation, I thought it was about time to show off one of the final art pieces that has been created for this project. There will be a lot more if we hit our funding goals, but for now, I present to you the cover of the Pirate Loot game! This is only a mockup of course, but it is pretty close to what we feel will be the final cover.

Come back tomorrow and I will show you what loot I have in store for you if you decide to support the Pirate Loot game!

Pirate Loot Sails Through Gencon!

18 Aug

With only three days until the launch of the Pirate Loot Kickstarter, the game made its first public debut at the venerable Gencon Game Fair this past weekend. We ran countless demos and handed out about 1,000 promotional cards reminding people of the upcoming project. From game industry luminaries to everyday fans, it seems like folks are really excited to see this project launch later this week.

I am making my way home from Gencon today, but you can expect to see a fair number of updates here this week, leading right up to and through the launch of Thursday. Expect to see some amazing things, including a link to the project before it even goes live so you can check it out!

Set Sail!

Pirate Loot is coming to GenCon!

11 Aug

Hey there all,

Gencon SuppliesAs of today we are 10 days from the launch of the Pirate Loot kickstarter! This week the team will be at Gencon, showing off the games and running demos when we can find the time in our already packed schedules. If you are going to be at the show, make sure to stop by Scott Kurtz’s artist booth during exhibitor hall hours. He will have a copy of the game for you to examine and a mountain of promotion cards to give away. These are not game cards, but they do feature art from the game and a reminder of its upcoming launch. I will be spending most of my days running seminars and manning the Paizo booth. During show hours (10am-6pm) I am there to represent Paizo and Pathfinder, but please stop by and say hi!

I am also hoping to sneak in some demo games in the evenings at various locations. I will try to announce these on my facebook page and on twitter before them happen. Follow me if you want the scoop!

In addition, we are going to be sending out a pile of demo decks around the country to be played at stores, game-days, and conventions. I will be posting up a list of where you can try the game as the dates and locations become available.

See you at the show!

Great News All Around Today!

6 Aug

I just thought I would take a brief moment to share some great news with all of you.

As of this morning, the Pirate Loot Kickstarter was officially approved. While we are still going to keep our schedule to launch of the 21st, it is good to know that we finally have everything coming together.

In addition, I saw the first rough cut of the video today and it is looking great. It should be done within the next few days and I hope to share it with all of you shortly before the Kickstarter goes live.

Finally, next week is Gencon! Both Scott and I will be at the show and while my duties for Paizo will keep me plenty busy, we are hoping to be able to bring some Pirate Loot fun for you in the off hours. Make sure to stop by Scott’s booth during the show to check out the demo deck and pick up a promotional card! I hope to have a few more details to share with you about Gencon early next week!

Tune back in tomorrow morning for our next faction preview!

Learn to Loot!

4 Aug

SailArtThe Pirate Loot Kickstarter campaign is just over two weeks away! In anticipation, we thought it time for you to learn how to be a pirate. Or rather, how to be a pirate that steals as much loot as possible, backstabbing friends and foes alike along the way. After all, when the captain yells Set Sail, you don’t want to be left behind.

You can check out the complete rules of Pirate Loot on the Game Play page!
